Morning Motivation

I’ve done my best to live the right way I get up every morning and go to work each day

But your eyes go blind and your blood runs cold Sometimes I feel so weak, I just wanna explode

Explode and tear this whole town apart Take a knife and cut this pain from my heart

Find somebody itching for something to start

Promised Land, Bruce Springsteen

Sometimes the daily grind sounds like a classic Springsteen song.  You get up, eat breakfast, go to work, do a bunch of stuff, go to bed and do it all over again.  You know something is missing, but what are you going to do?

Big changes only happen when we make little changes.  These small adjustments open us up to the larger changes needed in our lives and one of the best changes we can make is when we first wake up, a way to protect our inner peace before the noise of the world takes over.

When you get up, instead of reaching for the phone, tv or computer, spend five minutes in meditation, prayer or just deep breathing.  Just five minutes.  You can expand this time as you create this new habit, but start with five minutes.  This time can better set your mood and attitude as you begin your day.

Give this small change a couple of days and see how it can change the week.
